CHECK THE POSITION OF YOU PROTECTORS

Protectors play a decisive role when deciding on a new motorcycle jacket or a new pair of pants. Ideally your jacket and pants should fit your body tightly to keep protectors fixed around your joints and prevent them from shifting.

ELBOWS AND KNEES

In most cases elbow and knee protectors are adjustable in height. Simply sit down on your motorcycle and check if your knees and elbows are well-protected in the direction you are driving. A second person can help you out and feel the protectors through the material. Knee protectors in motorcycling pants may seem to sit too low while standing. The protectors will shift up to their proper position once you sit down on your motorcycle.

The protectors should start around 2-4 cm above your kneecaps or elbows while in driving position. We can individually adjust your protector pockets to your requested height in case your arm or leg areas are unusually proportioned. Repair-Service

BACK

If your jacket does not include a back protector already: Keep in mind that back protectors and strap on protector vests will take up a bit of space (around 2-3cm thick).

The back protectors and its pockets have a set position in your jacket and are not adjustable. Nevertheless, we recommend that you keep an eye on the gap between the highest vertebra and beginning of the protector. It should not sit too low, especially in the fields of Adventure and Sports.

CHECK THE CORRECT POSITION

If you are a bit taller or shorter than the average person you may very well need a long or short size. Look at our size table to find out which category you belong to.

THIS APPLIES TO EVERY SIZE:

JACKET:

The hobby of motorcycling is a hobby that includes a lot of sitting down. Therefore, our Modeka jackets are a bit shorter in the front than they are in the back. Please sit down on the motorcycle and make sure that your jacket does not hinder your sitting position. The jacket may puff up a little bit, which is natural. The jacket should not roll up or press onto your neck, however. Everything that may disturb you while driving will also disturb your concentration on the street and in traffic. This should be avoided at all costs.

The length of the sleeves is important too.  The sleeves should stop right before your wrist while you are in a riding position. This way a glove can wrap around your wrist properly. We recommend that you try on your gloves along with your jacket to make sure that neither gets into the way of the other and everything fits properly.

PANTS

Of course, you need to sit down on a motorcycle to check these as well. The pants should end around halfway up your ankle – they can be a bit longer, but not shorter.
Again, it is important to test them out while wearing motorcycle boots: There should never be a gap between your boots and pants while in driving position.

FINETUNING THE 3IN1 COMBINATION

IT DEPENDS ON: THE WAY YOU DRIVE

As you may know we are big fans of the 3in1 jackets and pants. They include many things: The main layer – the main product, a removable membrane, and a removable thermal lining.
Analyse how and in which seasons you usually drive. What are you wearing underneath during autumn? Can you do without the thermal lining and prefer to drive under good weather conditions? These aspects play an important role when you try to find the perfect size and fit.

EXAMPLE 1:

Charlotte likes to ride her motorcycle when the weather is nice. She rarely mounts her bike during colder temperatures. Because of this she usually forgoes her thermal lining and simply wears a functional shirt and pair of pants underneath riding suit. Charlotte should try to simulate this situation when trying on new clothes to fulfil her specific requirements.

EXAMPLE 2:

Aaron rides in every weather condition and gets cold quickly. He likes to wear a fleece top underneath his complete jacket and should test this as well when trying on his new gear.

WHICH MOTORCYCE DO YOU DRIVE?

Be it at home or in the store, your usual driving position dictates if your riding gear fits or not. If there is no motorcycle around, imitating your riding position on a chair does the job as well.

If course, your jacket and pants should be comfortable when you are not riding your bike as well, but your driving position should always be prioritized. Our whole collection has been modelled around the typical machine models and driving positions depending on use case.

HOW DO I KNOW WHICH SIZE TO ORDER ONLINE?

This is what your size table is for. With it you can determine your potential size at home. All you need is measuring tape. Please always measure close to your body, wearing as few clothes as possible.

If you are between sizes choose:

-    The smaller size if you want it to fit tightly.
-    The bigger size if you want it a bit more comfortable.

If your chest and waist dimensions are between two sizes, determine your size based on the bigger measurements.
